Seven precious days where you choose to retire from routine life, fixed attitude, set lifestyle and learn to take refuge in the inner haven of meditation. The rarefied retreat venue is truly an unparalleled sanctuary for self-discovery, contemplation and introspection.

A typical day at the Retreat

A typical day at the Retreat would involve a period of Yogasana training for health and healing, deliberation on Buddhist philosophy for self-care and lifestyle management, guided and private meditation practices, time when we laugh and bond together and hours where we observe silence and go on a digital fast as well. With equal emphasis on activity and inactivity, community life and solitude, faith and logic, indoors and outdoors, personal mentoring and general instructions, spontaneity and structure in yogic practices we will make a diligent effort to get into the stream of healing energy. Optional hiking sessions of 2-3 hours duration will also be organized and led by one of the Mystic Coaches; others opting out may choose to rest or use the instructions hitherto received to practice walking meditation. Mystic retreats traditionally go well beyond the teaching hours and course material, it’s essentially about opening the heart and liberating the mind to achieve a life transformation.

Retreat Venue

Retreat Venue is located about 10 km away from Gangtok and involves a downhill hike for 15-20 minutes. Even before reaching the scenic retreat place located in the midst of the hidden Himalayan valley the mood for the enthralling week ahead is set. Each participant gets a single room built in the traditional Buddhist style and all basic amenities are in place. The all-pervasive spirit of silence, expansive terraces at various levels, sprawling yoga hall and meditation temple makes this retreat centre one of the most unique settings you would experience in life.

Itinerary

The retreat will commence at 4 pm on Sunday (Feb 27th) and end at 9 am on Sunday (March 06th). One can plan to reach any time after 10 am on the day of commencement at the retreat venue and depart by 10 am on the last day. Pick up and drop will be available from Pakyong Airport or Gangtok city on both these days. A group will be travelling together from Kolkata; you may also choose to align your travel plans with the group itself.

Inclusive of 7 nights single occupancy accommodation, fresh meals at the retreat centre, yoga and meditation classes, self-study kit, hiking sessions, Rumtek monastery visits, pick up & drop from Pakyong airport / Gangtok.

Part of the proceeds from the retreat is utilized for the upkeep, food and medicine of street animals in Kolkata via Mystic Yoga Foundation.
