Nov 25-30, 2018 at Daijokyo Buddhist Temple, Bodhgaya
Mystic Living Program (MLP) is a week-long residential program offering basic knowledge of Yogasana, step by step Meditation methodology and an introduction to Ayurveda.
Mystic Living Program gives you an opportunity to cultivate mindful embodiment and learn to transform habitual thoughts, emotions, and behaviours into openings for freedom of spirit and happiness. This program explores yogic practices and study and practice of Buddhism that can harness and transform brain circuitries and the relationships between them, including:
Concentration through meditation to achieve unremitting willpower
Mindfulness practice using breathing exercises, a delicate function leading to refined sensibilities
Compassion used as a tool for stress release and training the mind through Bodhisatva way of life
Transformative physical practices through yoga and pranayama
Understanding basics of Ayurveda, the science of life to bring the body back to a state of optimal health
Practice of Yoga and study of Buddhism encompass sciences of mind that have withstood the test of time and human endeavour. Their highest aims, defined as Moksha and Nirvana, respectively, refer to nothing less than the elimination of suffering and achievement of unwavering bliss (Ananda).
The aim of this program is to offer you tools, techniques and the right spirit that will enable you to lead a healthier and more fulfilling life. The sense of ease and poise that you will attain will sustain you in the difficult times.
As part of the course, there will be a group tour of Mahabodhi Temple at Bodh Gaya. The Mahabodhi Temple is one of the four holy sites related to the life of the Lord Buddha, and particularly to the attainment of Enlightenment. We intend to participate in Sutra chanting early morning, followed by Yogasana with the main temple as the backdrop and then walk around as pilgrims seeking understanding and blessings.
