Meditative Invocation

Meditative Invocation

Let us begin by invoking the A-U-M sound, softly and sonorously from your heart, sitting in stable meditation posture with eyes remaining gently closed. Repeat the A-U-M invocation seven times as a purificatory rite.

Enjoy a few moments of evolving silence and let your mental energy connect with your body and be in touch with the meditation seat as well. Behold the image of primordial syllable Aum in your heart, made of mellow light, soothing light… The healing light emanating from the syllable Aum anoints your heart and mind space. As you begin to enjoy the meditative rapture remind yourself of the posture basics. Be conscious of your posture, sitting straight with an open chest and simultaneously softening your fingers, toes, face, and forehead. Sit in silent communion with your physical self, releasing the locked energy in each body part by simply intending to do so. As you silently persist with the relaxation and observation of your physical self it gives rise to ease and warmth. This is the time your mind will naturally tend to move from being with the body to settling within the body. Inwardly try to behold the form of syllable Aum as clearly as possible and let your body become aglow with the light permeating from the same. Meditate on the body, meditate with the body, and meditate within the body. The mellow light caresses your body from the outside and possesses your body from the inside. Every fleeting moment is an opportunity for you to let go, to release hidden anxiety and stress locked within the cellular organism and nerve crevices. Meditate on the moment and the ensuing release and change in your physical self. Each moment rises and falls, and you remain an observer, similarly observe the storm of physical desires, coming and going. Liberate your body from its complexes and compulsion by giving it tender care and attention without any desire to control or to seize the moment. Rest in this freedom, rest being awake and alive, rest in this meditative awareness for a few moments or a few minutes.
